Cask at the Sussx Arms, Twickenham Green, 21/11/14. Golden amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is straw, light farmyard, apple core, lemon zest. Taste comprises yeast esters, bitterings, lemon rind, damp hay. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Drinkable but pretty muted, expect more from Wild Beer.

Draft at the Cock Tavern Saison Fest. Decent stuff but not at all exciting. Pours hazy amber-brown with a fine, white foam head. Mild doughy malts, some Belgian yeast. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Basic doughy, bready malts to conclude. Sub-par effort from a brewer that can do better.

Keg at Lyric, Soho. It pours cloudy amber with a medium-thick beige head. The nose is earthy, straw, light spice, faint citrus and barnyard. The taste is spice, hay, earth, fairly high bitterness, lemon and soda water with a dry, bitter finish. Light-medium body and lively carbonation. A bit watery really and not much depth. So-so.

Cock Taver mini Saison Fest. Cloudy brown beer, little white head. Softish palate, minerally carbonation. Bitterish dried fruits, mildly tangy as well. Touch of fresh citrus. Finishes semi dry with a subtle salty streak. Not bad.
