(Cask at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 20 Nov 2013, as "Harbour Imperial Chocolate Vanilla Stout 8.0%". I guess this is the one.) Black colour with brief, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, vanilla, creamy coffee and a generous cocoa bitterness in a fairly vinous finish. Almost full body, fairly sweet. Solid, well made and fairly well balanced for its complexity. Very nice.

Cask at the Euston Tap, 22/11/13. Light black with reddish streaks when held to the light, good sized bubbly tan headwork. Nose is earthy cocoa, vanilla, light booze, tar/leather backnotes. Taste comprises a little more depth, rich chocolate fudge, dark toffee, dark feruit tang, chocolate fondue, fairly decadent stuff. Medium bodied with a pair of balls dangling in there, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, light warming booze in the closure but kept well in check. Decent cask impy.

Tap at Euston tap. Opaque black with a short lived tan head. Some lace. Aroma is choc, woody, earthy hop. Touch of sweet vanilla. Served a bit cold. Needs to open up a bit. Flavour is choc smooth roasted coffee. Wood and oak tanin and present. Finish has a weird spicy veg hop quality. Medium full body with a substantial carbonation. Big and bold, but malt and hops are not in unison.

Euston Tap. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Palate is soft with fine carbonation. Lovely sweet vanilla ice cream! Mild dark malt with a light touch of chocolate. But this really is a vanilla sweet treat! Crispy minerals. Way too drinkable!

Keg at Euston Tap, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Massive sweet vanilla aroma. Tastes of vanilla, chocolate, slightly malty, sweet, smooth and very rich. Almost dessert like. A very nice stout.

Keg at the Euston Tap, London. Pours black-brown with a moderate, creamy beige head. Truck loads of vanilla in the nose - it’s almost like aniffing vanilla extract - with other notes of subtle roast and dark chocolate. Big sweet flavor, rich but I wouldn’t say cloying, with chocolate cake, saucy vanilla, chocolate frosting, mellow burnt wood, nipe of alcohol, toasted brown sugar, some fruitcake, suggestions of ripe fruits, raisins, plums. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation, and lightly chewy. Lightly warming to finish, lots of dark sugars, decadent chocoate, cuts of maple syrup, hefty chocolate cake, further vanilla, perhaps syrupy vanilla, rich bread, mellow burnt earth bitterness. Quite an indulgent beer overall. Nicely balanced and layered.

Very dark brown, filthy dense tan head. Aroma is big time milk chocolate, nice sweet dark malt with some soft vanilla, superb nose. Taste is dark chocolate malts mixed with vanilla ice cream - it’s a beery ice cream float, great flavour, it was sweet and vanilla but not sickly which it could easily have been. Soft carb and a medium to full body, very smooth dark malts. Finish as main flavour with some booze, nice chocolate vaniila malts. Overall - Didn’t notice the barrel aging here but this was a great vaniila ice cream chocolate imperial stout.
