Draught at KCBD19. Hazy dark amber colour. Big stable creamy white head. The flavour has a good caramelly and slightly piney note. Very clean.

Please Aegir, save me from all the bland local lagers sampled during this Caribbean cruise. Let’s see how the Norwegians do an IPA. Bought onboard in the best bar from the best bartender, it is poured from a can into a tall Pilsner style glass. Beneath the plentiful and lasting white head is a dense gold going to orange body. The nose gives me orange peel and freshly cut grass. On to a drink, strongly hoppy, grapefruit and just a bit of sweetness, all wrapped by a long-missed bitterness. Maybe not the best IPA I have ever had but one of the most welcome.

330ml can. Pours a clear amber with a one-finger off-white head, dissipating fairly quickly. Aroma: citrus and piney resin, caramel, orange marmalade. Taste: like the aroma mostly citrus fruits and piney resin, sweet caramel, orange marmalade, good bitter finish. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation. A decent west coast IPA.
