Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Oak and light smoke aroma with light grapefruit and light floral notes. Oak and light vanilla flavor with malt, floral notes, and light grapefruit. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Oak and light vanilla linger with malt and light grapefruit.

22oz bottle–pours an off white head and copper/gold color. Aroma is wood, herbal/pine, sweet medium malt-caramel. Taste is week, herbal/pine hops bite, secondary sweet medium malt-caramel.

Rosehips, tangerine, and mango nose. Clear copper, thin yellow head, some glass adherence. Medium bodied, yet intensely flavorful. Mango and grapefruit peel, sweet and tart initially, quite bitter in the end. Light rosehips are also present. Malty grapefruit finish with only subtle oak hints. Masterfully done. Intense and bold, but just to the point of not becoming a chore. Outstanding balance. I was hoping for a bit more of an oak character, but I could be wrong. I trust Great Divide’s judgement. They seem to know what I like better than I do.

[9/23/10] Bottle at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Clear amber with a big off-white head. Resinous hoppy aroma with some pine needles and some wood. Sweet malty flavor, caramelly, with cookie notes and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear ambe, airy head. Cookie malt and lychee strikes first. Sweet and full bodied wth clean, rounded mouthfeel. Dough and aromatic grapefruit, notesof wood. Mid bitter finish. The alcohol is well hidden and it feels harmonious.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear orange with a large frothy off-white head. The aroma is earthy and floral hops, caramel and bread malts with notes of vanilla and oak. The flavor is bitter, and a little sour. The palate is sticky, smooth, and astringent. Very strong and hoppy, but smooth and tasty.

66cl Bottle shared by and with Plovmand and DSG. Clear copper colour, off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, malts, oak, grassy hops. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, light vanilla, oak, light grassy hoppy finish, dry mouthfeel. Fullbodied. Nice.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ home.Clear medium to dark amber orange color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, heavy hoppy, citrus - orange, pine, wood. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a woody malty hoppy bitter aroma with some hints of vanilla. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter woody vanilla flavor. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle that Craig picked up for me in his GBBF haul, many thanks mate. Consumed 21.08.10 Pours deep copper with an off-white head its perfectly clear but you can sort of see the thickness of this beer it actually looks quite a dense beer. Sweet hops on the nose. The taste is sweet, in fact it doesn’t take too much of this before I realise that this sweetness is rather cloying for me thankfully Loz shared this with me otherwise I would really have struggled with it. The oakiness is apparent, very thick mouthfeel, bit of woodiness and syrup really show, but know this is just too cloyingly sweet I’m afraid. I may just about have coped with a small bottle of this but sadly this isn’t my thing, though it has to be said that the wasps in the garden are going mad for it, I’ve rescued two from a sweet cloying but happy death and others are attempting to dive bomb into it like a gannet into the sea.
