Cask at Cloisters. Don’t know why, but I was expecting a fruit beer! Anyway, a decent kiwi-hopped pale ale. Nice tropical fruit aromas, more fruit on the taste. Good.

Cask gravity at the Wandsworth beer fest preview night 26/03/14. Aroma is straw and beans on toast. Hazed straw coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Flavour is straw and grainy malt with some tanin, grain husk. Medium palate. Not a huge amount of hop character. Average.

Earl of Essex. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, no head. Palate is light and semi dry with fine carbonation. Weird awful dusty cardboard with insipid apple and cucumber notes. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. This train wreck is barely recognisable as a beer, what the hell happened?
