Bottle in Rome during The Stag Do. Super sweet and boozy. Full bodied with average carbonation and lots of heat. Warm finish, notes of aged malts, toffee, caramel. Lingering booze, heat, sugar and caramel. Very nice, even if these notes don’t fully reflect it. (4.2)

Bottle at THE Barley Wine Tasting - East Croydon. I didn’t bring this one - maybe Kenny did? Or Bruce? Anyway, yet again I neglected to take adequate notes, notes to do this fine beer justice. It was big and sweet and perhaps lightly cheesy, but on the whole I quite enjoyed it yet again. (3.9)

18 cl. bottle@Kulminator: dark brown with a purple hue, miniature tanned head that immediately disappears, smell is bourbon, dark fruits & caramel, taste is very sweet with lots & lots of cough medicine & liquorice, caramel, dark fruits, dark malt, sugar, some Sirop de Liège , plain syrup, bourbon, warming & almost no carbonation, bottle nr. 1430/1722 //////// Tried this one again, 18 cl. nip bottle @ Kulminator, this has really improved, gone are all the cough syrup notes from previous, still very sweet but in a nice way, huge sugar and very sweet bourbon barrel, great stuff, zero head this time around safe for some bubbles //// original score 4, drinks more like a 4.7 now, going to up the score to 4.6, this has aged really nicely which I usually don’t expect from a De Molen beer

18cl bottle shared at Arendsnest. Clear brown pour with small tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, raisins, caramel and vanilla. Flavor has same aspects and the bourbon barrel aging works perfectly for what seems to be a barrel aged Bommen & Granaden. Lovely BA special by De Molen that actually isn’t an imperial stout.
