No other Norwegian beer has won more international prizes than our Porter. We always include it in our tastings and it has turned many a ”lager lover” on to craft beer. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel with hints of coffee and chocholate. Good with classic stews, but mindblowing with dark chocolate!

Bottle Many thanks to Craig aka cgarvieuk for this bottle Poured black with nice beige head ’quite thick’. Aroma was a little nutty and with subtle coffee notes as well. Tasted quite indulgent with nutty flavours, complimented by a lovely rich smoothness, quite filling and done very well.

bottle - Pours black with a nice tan head. There’s a rich, chocolaty roast malt aroma. The flavor has elements of chocolate and coffee vying with the dark roast malt. Creamy, full bodied, and smooth, there’s a touch of bitterness in the finish. This is an excellent porter. thanks to bdigi66 for sharing this gem.

Left me start this by saying, I drank this immediately after drinking the Olfabrikken Porter, so needless to say, it came in second. Pours a watery opaque black with a slightly off white head that faded quickly. Smells of roasted malt, sugar and dark fruits. Flavor is malty, but not too roasted, toffee, oranges and more dark fruit. Finish is smooth but a little watery. Very drinkable and pleasant.

Very dark porter with light beige head. Aroma is very interesting (chocolate, licorize, fruits?). Flavor is very balanced and not too much burned. Quite easy to drink (surprise for me). Very good and interesting porter. Edit 13.9.2023. Bottle as Robust Porter. Aroma has also smokeyness. Taste has fruitness, light smokyness. Still very good beer. No change to points.

1 pt .9 fl oz bottle from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Pour is a deep brown with red highlights. Head is khaki and about 1/2 inch tall. Aroma is licorice, hops and roasted malt. The taste starts with a very nice roastiness, plenty of malt, some hop bitterness and then finishes with a strong coffee flavor. Really nice palate to this one, solid, but not overly huge. Really picks up flavor as it warms. Nice beer.

Rerate: Bottle @ de Molen, small sample. Lots of licorice and roasted malts. Basicly like I described it before, but it felt a bit less creamy and complex and more forward on the roast. Downgrading a bit to 3.6 Original rate, 4.0: Clear dark brown color, big brown head. Good strong porter aroma, coffee, licorice, some roasted malt, dried fruit. Good creamy texture. Roasted taste, bitter, coffee, some chocolat. Very good porter.
