Handpull cask at the Bowling Green, Leicester. Light brown, cloudy, with a ring of off-white head. Reasonable scent of earth, wood shavings, guava paste, sarsaparilla. Sweet gentle floral taste with a touch of tannin in the aftertaste. Pleasant in a way, it has character but doesn't hang together well enough.

Cask @ New Oxford, Manchester. Copper-amber with a very thin head. Some hops but its malts are the more slightly dominant character. Medium-bodied with some very small sweet grain notes evident.

Cask gravity at The Haywain, Bramling. Pale chestnut lasting beige head. Yeasty aroma. Malty besst bitter and "Just Like Heaven," by The Cure came on the stereo and I couldn’t have been happier. Very good traditional best bitter, maybe a touch more hop needed on the finish for my palate.
