Bottle from 2009 at Cellar cleanup tasting at Deanso’s. Courtesy of kermis. Sweet caramel malts, leathery bitterness, light oak, chestnut, vanilla, all very smoothened out. Over medium body, soft feel and bittersweet nutty dry finish.

Bottle at Ash’s. Pours clear dark brown with a thin white head. Aromas of toffee, biscuit, oranges. Taste is sweet, caramel. More orange. Sweet finish. Not sure why they went to the trouble of freezing the water out. Why not just brew a strong beer in the first place?
