Cask, half at Mr Foleys Cask Ale House, Leeds. Served at ambient drinking temperature. Beige, lacing-head. Dark amber body. Smell of earthy malts with hints of spices. Caramel malts in flavour offset by notes of fruity hops and a nice bitter ending. Good drinking (Pub Crawl 11.07.2010).

(Cask at City Arms, Manchester, 23 July 2009) Dark amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nutty nose with notes of dried fruit, orange peel and dusty hops. Malty, slightly nutty taste with toffee, caramel and a moderately bitter finish with slightly earthy hops. Fairly light body. Nice and drinkable bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms JDW, Bristol 5/02/09. Cooper coloured with a tight, off white head that left a film of lace down the glass. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of leafy hop. Flavour was a bit sickly, with some red fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Reddish amber with a dense cream head; spicy hop aroma; smooth with sour fruit and bready flavours to start, then sweet malty caramel and a warming finish. Not bad.
