bottle at the Kulminator, pours hazy orange with a tall white head. Aroma is earthy and sweet with some pineapple and honey notes. Flavor is sweet malt and candied fruit ending with not a trace of alcohol. This is a special vintage and I can’t wait to cellar my few for at least another 10 years. Crazy delicious.

(2/29/08) Bottle at Kulminator in Antwerp. Hazy orange with some yeast sediment and a white head that disappears quite fast. Aroma of malt, oak, sugar, some caramel and a bit of spices. A very rich sweet malty flavor with caramel, some wood and some spices. finishes rather sweet and alcoholic with a dry touch. Full-bodied and slightly syrupy.

Very good of Brewfiend to share this rare beer. Cloudy with yeast, and much like a tripel in the aroma and flavor. The aroma is mostly fruit with some yeast and light spice. The flavor starts sweet but the alcohol is prominent and powerful, too much really, but a good beer anyway.

Bottle courtesy of FoneFan: Poured a dirty beige yellow color ale with a huge foamy head with great retention and perfect lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some liquor also noticeable from the barrel-aging. Taste is a mixture between some sweet malt with some notes of brandy or some other sweet liquor. Full body with limited filtration and loads of lees with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol which is quite a feat at 13%. While I thought it was an interesting beer I must admit I was a bit let down and was expecting more.

Test vom 20.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,13,12,13,-,14 - 12,94

11.6 oz bottle - Rating #999. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a half inch of fizzy white head and a few dark floating yeast flakes. It has a strong aroma of citrus, maybe a touch of banana, yeast, alcohol, and a hint of spice. The flavor features fairly sweet malt presence with some oak, light citrus, and yeast along with a alcohol presence that is apparent but not as strong as one might expect from 13% abv. Actually when I opened this one I had no idea it was so high. I guess that explains why I felt it more than I expected I would. This beer is quite tasty and definitely intense. Going into it just knowing it was a Belgian ale and not much else, the intensity was a bit of a shock. It’s very good now, but might be better with another year or two of aging.

Clear golden amber body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet slightly tart candi sugar aroma with a hint of oak. Sweet candi sugar flavor, light caramel, some light oak and a touch of sour with some light spiciness from the yeast.

33 cL bottle. Pours orange with quickly disappearing crispy white head. Aroma is slight acidic, citric and sweet. By far not as pleasant as the flavour. Flavour is very sweet, raisins, dried fruit, malt and decent bitter hops.
