Om tap at Berts bar. Appearance - golden with a slim head. Not much carbonation. Nose - lemon and elderflower possibly even fennel. Taste - crystalised lemon with a mountain herb thing going on. Most unusual. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly dry zingy finish. Overall - not in my opinion an American pale ale but whatever it is I did actually find it fairly agreeable. I wonder what yeast was used here as it brought out a lot of sweet tang in the hops.

Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. Straw with a ring of white head; malty aroma; soft sweet grainy body with some jammy malts; then an indistinct dusty bitterness. Not good.

Hand-pulled pint in The Moon Under Water (Spoons), Wolverhampton on 6th July 2013. Golden, clear and bright: cream coloured head that produced some good lacing. Sadly I found the beer bland and uninteresting really. Slight fruity nose with a taste to match. Watery and thin feel to the texture of the brew. Caledonian may well have used only US grown hops in this beer, they just didn’t use many!

From cask at Three Judges. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Mild fruity and slight citrusy aroma. Mild caramelish and slight spiced base flavour. Solid bitterness coming through. Holds a dry and bitter finish. Light roasted acidicy on the back of the tongue and nose. Tasted again 2012-11-09, same as before.
