Cask @ Belfast Beer Festival [141114]
Black, ruby edges, frothy beige head
Aroma of dark fairly sweet caramel, dark toffee, light nose
Taste of mellow roasted malts, dab of dark chocolate, some dry roast, touch of dark fruit, good
Palate - Medium body, a bit thin, soft sweet, dab of bitter roast
Overall - Not as dry and bitter as usual for a dry Irish stout. Quite decent.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours opaque dark brown, no head at first but a nice white one appears, like a certain other stout. Aromas has light coffee, light chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Clean, dry finish. Good.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern, London - shared with Jack. Pours clear brown with a weak, white foam head. Dry roasted malt aroma, some light smoke and earth. Very mellow roast in the flavor, light sweetness, faint minerals. Light in body with fine carbonation. Crisp finish with burnt toast, light rocks, faint cocoa. Meh, nothing special. Although, itโs worth noting that the condition of the beers at the Pembury on this visit has not been optimal. This beer was OK, but Iโm sure it could be better.

[Gravity cask at Chippenham Beer Festival] Ruby black, no head. Lots of coffee and smoke. Sweet at first, but with increasingly intense roasted malt flavour coming through that leaves a satisfyingly bitter finish. Excellent stout.
