Een combinatie van een Helles Weizenbock en een rauchbier. Hierdoor ontstaat een mild fruitig bier met weizenelementen als banaan en kruidnagel en spekachtige rooktonen. Te vergelijken met fruit van de BBQ. De rooksmaak komt van de mout uit Duitsland die niet met hete lucht wordt geëest, maar met rook van beukenhout.
Naam
Jopen Witte Rook is het eerste officiële brouwsel (na het testbrouwsel Schwarze Hell) gebrouwen in de Jopenkerk Haarlem. Het eerste brouwsel van het nieuwe jaar is standaard Witte Rook. De naam verwijst naar de keuze van een nieuwe Paus. Als deze gekozen is, komt er witte rook uit de schoorsteen van het Vaticaan.

Draught @ Taphouse, Copenhagen. Poirs hazy straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of malt, with smoky and estery touches. Sweetish, malty aroma with smoky and fruity notes and faint, hoppy touches. Hoppy and fruiy aftertaste. Decent.

Bottle @ Van Moll. Hazy yellow to orange colour with a medium sized white head. Smells banana, wheat, smoked. Shouldn’t have ordered this. Tastes bacon, wheat, malts, smoked, egg. Medium body, nice carbo.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma is wheat, banana and a hint of smoke. Tastes about the same: wheat, banana, slightly smoke, a hint of orangepeel. Average body to medium body, average carbonation.

Lekker man | [2017-02-17 15:30:14] - Locatie: Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder - Score: 3.6 - Comment: Tap at Jopen Proeflokaal at the edge of Haarlem. Hazy golden/white head. Smoked malts, smoked sausage, barley, caramel. Very nice. Over medium sweet & moderate smokey bitter. Medium body, soft carb. Chalky dry quick finish. Can drink this all day!

Tap tasted on 24/06/2014. Hazy medium orange colour with a medium persistent white head. Weak aroma of citrus, malts and smoke. The flavour is not well balanced between the malts and the smoke. Not a memorable smoke beer. Next one please!

(Draught at Jopenkerk, Haarlem, 27 Feb 2014) Hazy golden colour with dense, off-white head. Malty, slightly smoky nose with notes of white bread, banana and gentle smoke aromas. Malty, slightly smoky taste with banana, peaches, white bread and gentle hints of smoke. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite tasty, with a fairly gentle smoke character. Quite nice.
