375 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a frothy and creamy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, dark chocolate, dark honey, bourbon, alcohol, burnt sugar, fresh oak, minerals, black tea, salty liquorice candy and hints of lemon zest and acetone. Taste is sweet and bitter with heavily roasted malts, bourbon, fresh oak, vanilla fudge, coconut, moist soil, minerals, burnt wood, dark honey, golden syrup, pine needles, lemon zest, black tea, dark roast coffee, salty liquorice candy, alcohol and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is tiny round, tiny creamy, tiny astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, sawdust, black tea, pine needles and bourbon. Ok, but nothing fancy…

(Bottle, 0.375 l - BBE 11/12/22, from Systembolaget, 20130406) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts and booze. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, sweetness, vanilla, sweetness, wood, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, roasty and bitter. The name made me expect more honey and vanilla. Instead what I got was sweet burnt imperial stout. I’m confused.

Bottle:
Black pour with a thick tan head. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of Bourbon. Taste is more roasted malt and Bourbon, also some smoke. Finish is really bitter with warming alcohol.
