Once a year we receive the latest crop of hops from the US, intensely aromatic and bursting with potential they’re begging to be put to work. With three times the quantity of hops of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’ and even more than our flagship Double IPA ‘Human Cannonball’ we’ve created a fitting tribute to the new hop release with this our annual homage to the hop. ‘Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension-balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavour and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world. We’ve done our best for the hops, don’t let them down by ageing this beer: please drink as soon as Un-Humanly possible!

A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of malt, fish, and petroleum. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, over ripe fruits, yeast, and grass, leading to a dry finish.

Keg @ 57 Thomas St, Manchester. Dangerous stuff for its strength, as it’s very fruity and hides much of the aforementioned in its tropical fruit flavours. Pale orange in colour with a thin head, you can feel the alcohol on your breath in its aftertaste. Has lots of tropical fruit aromas.

Bottle from The Beerhive (2016) and can from Cork & Cask (2017). Murky bronze/amber body with a thin white head that quickly fades. No lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, peppery earth and lemon. Flavour of pineapple, grass and hop spice that tingles the tongue. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Light fizz. For me, the 2017 version is a huge improvement on the 2016 version, thanks to increased bitterness and carbonation. It’s incredibly peppery - the only other beer I remember having so much hop spice is Cloudwater’s Birthday DIPA.

Fresh (2016 version) 660ml bottle shared at the April 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting: cheers Simon. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. Tropical fruits all the way here, some semi-sour citrus bits along with more exotic sweeter fruits producing a good, rounded, strong IPA that isn’t too bitter: nice.
