Once a year we receive the latest crop of hops from the US, intensely aromatic and bursting with potential they’re begging to be put to work. With three times the quantity of hops of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’ and even more than our flagship Double IPA ‘Human Cannonball’ we’ve created a fitting tribute to the new hop release with this our annual homage to the hop. ‘Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension-balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavour and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world. We’ve done our best for the hops, don’t let them down by ageing this beer: please drink as soon as Un-Humanly possible!

Can from Park Fever, Hither Green. Hazy orange pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Tropical fruit, orange marmalade, tangerine, apricot, peach aroma. Flavours of pineapple, mango, tangerine, black pepper, apricot, bitter herb. Unsurprising heavy, boozy action on the palate. Long alcohol burn in the finish.

500ml can. Cloudy orange colour with a small off-white head, dissipating quickly. Aroma: juicy citrus and tropical fruit, pine. Taste: tropical, citrus, pine, grass, malt, spicy, some alcohol warmth. Medium body and carbonation, very bitter. This improves upon Human Cannonball with even juicier tasting hops, a DIPA to rival Cloudwater I think. Great stuff.

On tap at CBC 2016, red session. Pours hazy deep golden, white head. Huge hops aroma, lots of tropical fruit, citrus, pine, mango. Resinous. Sweetish malty with strong lasting bitterness in finish. Medium+ bodied. Alcohol is well hidden. Lovely DIPA.

Bottle. Nose is pleasant but muted for the style: malt, marmalade, honey, booze, gentle tropical fruits. Taste is marmalade, pine, leading to pineapple, hints of lychee, tropical juice, then a bone dry resin finish. Mouthfeel is slick. Edit: 2018 Can:Nose is rich tropical fruit, honey, malt, pineapple, ripe mango, hint of grape. Taste is dank, topical, pineapple, lychee, peach, leading to resin, pepper, slightly vodka booze note, marmalade, more resin. Very nice but the alcohol in the finish is too pronounced for my taste.
