5th October 2012
Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate with a crisper trailing edge. Mild minerals. Smooth and mildly creamy dark malt. Nice plummy and generic fruits. Back end is an interesting mixture of pine hops and black pepper. Finishes neutral. Very good inventive beer, unusual but in good balance.

Bottle from Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a deep dark mahogany color with a frothy tan head. The aroma is spicy with fruit. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, lots of liqourice, loads of dry spice with earthy peat. A super beer and worth bringing back from KL!

Bottle, 64cl. A clear one it seems, dark brown in color and with a small, dense, light beige head. Sort of Christmas cake spiced aroma, soon turning into piney hoppyness and roasted malts. There’s some peppery hints in the flavor, with a certain warmth in the mouth. It’s full-bodied, warming and pleasantly carbonated. Nice bitterness, roasted malts and a wonderful peppery spicyness in the flavor. Lasting roasted finish with a fine bitterness and pepper flavor. Really nice. 121109
