Bottle at home, last day of 2015. Hazy red amber with a lasting white head. Aroma of dried fruits, rich malt, marmalade and honey. Medium dry malty flavour with plenty of fresh grain, and breadcrust. A touch of fruity and grassy hops, and a nice bitter finish. Slightly oxidized

Caramel, malted sugars, faint cognac/bourbon aromas and alcohol. Very smooth mouthfeel. As the previous versions, it doesn’t disappoint. However, it is lacking the complexity and rich flavours of previous versions.

Bottle. Pours with a clear copper, bronze hued body with a medium sized foamy, tan head. Average lace and retention. Aromas are of rich malt, light nuttiness and melanoidin, dark fruit: plums, fig and cherry skins, mild sherry and doughiness. Floral. Medium esters. Warming and clean. Flavors are medium bitter, floral, sugar cookie, dark fruit esters, fig, marmalade. Some toasted malt and stewed prunes. Yeasty, slight marmite. Toast, coconut in the finish. Chewy toffee. Good, but not one of my favorite years of the Vintage ale. Medium body, slight warmth, toasty, medium dry, medium carbonation.

Bottle. Dark copper color, white head. Aroma of grainy malt, grassy hop, raisin and yeast. Taste is quite full and boozy for the abv, with ripe fruit, caramelised malt, uk hops and a warming booze. Nice uk barley wine-ish strong ale.

Bottle to celebrate MiP’s 14K rating :-) Pours slightly hazy orangeish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of yeast, malt, fruit and caramel, with notes of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and fruit, complemented by bitter, hoppy notes. Bitterish and slightly sweet aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Decent. Congrats MiP, keep rating!

(bottle, #024405) Hazy, deep amber colour with a beige and mid-sized foamy head. Mildly biscuit cara-malty aroma with mildly fruity notes of raisins, accompanied by spicy and slightly woody hops. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Balanced biscuit and slightly nutty cara-malty taste with subtle fruity notes and spicy hops in the background; lasting and slightly juicy malty finish with balanced hoppy spice. Very pleasant. 30.XII.14
