330ml bottle, Christmas present from Eric. Deep brown, large tan head, Aroma of brown ale malt, yeast. Flavour profile is for me more in line with a standard brown ale than a rich sweet dubbel. Hints of cake with some dark fruit notes. Ok.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, with sweetish dried dark fruits, raisins, yeast, and forest fruit jam. Flavour is sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Not a bad Dubbel, lacks candysugar which is a good thing, with an atypical take on the dried fruits you expect from a Dubbel.

Pretty solid dubbel. When fresh would be great, this one’s pretty good but 8 months old. Hit a lot of the great spots of the style. Bier konig ams

Jolie prestation.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark brown colour with a reddish hue and a thick medium sized creamy beige head. Nice lacing around the glass. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, brown bread and also a hint of bubblegum and candied sugar. Taste is more dry dark fruits, plums, caramel and brown bread with some added peppery spice and more subtle hints of candied sugar in the background. Fruity, a little sweet and also dry finish. Nicely balanced. Thin to medium body, soft sparkly palate and smooth mouthfeel. Above average for the style. Another reviewer described this perfectly as a ‘gentle Dubbel’ . This is a nice beer. Enjoyed

Yoghurt and metal in the aroma. Some apple sourness in the flavor together with milk, fresh cheese, caramel and chocolate. Just a hint of metal. Milky aftertaste. This beer seems to me like a mix of a flemish red and an abbey double.
