Hop Riot IPA is our flagship beer. Brewed in the American IPA style with a definitive "Left Coast" attitude. We brew our IPA with an aggressive bitterning level which is complimented and balanced by a defined malt backbone. Our final signature is the dry hop step where fresh hops are immersed in the finished beer to provide the floral and citrus aromas of our IPA, a Hop Riot indeed.

Draught at Tadg’s. Orange-amber with lace. Nose of citrus, some tropical fruits, a bit of honey and gumball. Sweet honey flavor, bread and orange, goes to grass and big bitterness with a dry, bitter finish. Clean and tasty.

Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose is citrus, caramel, with floral and just a hint of ivy. Cloudy amber with a medium beige head. Flavor is moderately bitter, with white pepperiness, and a hint of pine resins plus lots of caramel. I prefer piney nosed IPAs but the flavor on this one is spectacular and the bitterness is extremely well balanced by all the flavors. I have been getting tired of all the super hoppy - bitter forward new IPAs I am finding all the time and this one hits the spot here after working outside all afternoon on a 103F day.

Draft @ Select Beer Store, Redondo Beach, CA. Pours a dark golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity piney grapefruit hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter piney flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter piney finish.

Bottle courtesy of Marsiblursi shared at tasting. Pours hazy reddish golden with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates while clinging to the glass leaving lots of trace and lacing. Smell is sweet fresh and hoppy with caramel, oily pine, overripe mango, passion fruit, peaches, dill and freshly cut resinous wood. Taste is sweet, bitter, tiny metallic and hoppy with peaches, oily pine, pineapple, unripe mango, dark bread, dark honey, gooseberries and hints of caramel and grass. Mouthfeel is smooth, silky, oily and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with tangerine, peaches, pine and dill.

Poured up on tap at the Pleasanton Hopyard with clear copper body and gold edges as well as a near white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma is an interesting mix of grapefruit, tart pine hops, orange peel and a light spicy cedar wood sensation that may be due to a combination of aromatics coming together. The taste is similar with a thick punch of grapefruit, mango and clementine and then running into increasing levels of resiny bitter hops. Midway and to the finish the hops seem to mostly consist of resiny pine sap as well as a sort of mild spicy cedar wood note in the background. This is a fairly forward bitter and resiny brew and as it should be with such a name as this. Nice.

Crisp and slightly hazy copper coloured body with a touch of an amber glow and a thick, three centimetre tall off-white microfoam head. Aroma of hops with grapefruit, citrus, a hint of resin and some pine noticeable, a good malt balance and a bit of earth. Medium-bodied; Chewy malt flavour with some pungent earthiness, a touch of a yeastie flavour and some strong but rather subtle (given the malt) hop notes. Aftertaste is in good balance, but the hops are having a tough time coming through the alcohol warmth at the end. Overall, a decent IPA, but almost more of an APA and slightly on the alcoholic side as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 06-December-2011 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 13-February-2012.

On tap at the Toronado. Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, lightly herbal, resin hop notes. A bit sticky. Light esters. Flavors are fruity, citrus, grapefruit rind. Quite bitter. Some pine and lots of resin. Medium bubbles, a bit warming. Medium dry. Pretty tasty.

Bomber from Bottle Barn. Pours copper with a creamy near beige head. The aroma is indeed floral/citrus. Nice! Med+ body with near creamy carb. Flavor is lots of floral, and some citrus, over a decent roast caramel backbone. It’s really, really great. Brilliant. My mouth is seized by strong bitter. To paraphrase the Duke of Clarence, extinguish me in a barrel of this.
