In t’Bruges Beertje - a nice robust dubbel with loads of flavour, big boozy kick in there. Made all the better by the atmosphere in the pub. Lots of sweetness in there, a bit of maltiness, cake fruits et al. Very nice to look at too.

330 ml bottle via BelgianShop. Pours a medium brown with a huge head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, and dried dark fruit. Spicy flavor with distinct dark fruit notes (dates?). A little sweet. Acidic finish.

330ml bottle at ‘t Brugs Beertje. Creamy, off-white head. Golden-brown body, near-clear. Aroma of dried and fresh fruits. Dates, prunes and bitter spices in flavour supported by dark honey. Modest hints of alcohol. Smooth and well bodied. A good one (Brugge, 03.05.2011).

Little cloudy red brown beer, aery light off-white head, unstable and non adhesive. Aroma: raisins, almost vinous, dried fruits, malts, alcohol and caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, toast, some hops. Aftertaste: clearly chocolate with some mocha and spices (cloves). Ends a bit dry from the hops.

Cloudy brownish beer brewed with dates. Rich and not sweet. Only a subtle hint of fruit. Dry malty finish. Alright!

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy dark brown color with a large foamy tan head that produced some lacing. The aroma was tangy with notes of caramel, molasses and fig. The flavor was dryish with notes of molasses, caramel, vanilla, biscuit, tart cherries and malted milk. The finish was long and dry with notes of cream, caramel and vanilla. Fairly full bodied. Interesting.

Pours deep brown into a trappist glass. Tan micro head with good retention recedes leaving slight sheets to coat surface. Yeast and pit fruit aromas. Thin, sweet and hot from front to back with earthy dark pit fruits mingling with tropical fruit tartness.

cloudy brown, huge light brown to offwhite head. very very nice aroma, citussy spicy notes, alcohol, belgian yeast, mild sweet malts, spices. faint honey. Well balanced, very complex, and very belgian. flavor is strong alcohol, sweet malts, honey, spices. Flavor is stronger and less complex than aroma, quite a lot of spicy floral yellow fruit peel frutiy bitterness, honey and sweet malts balance. Ends floral, fruit peely. At 9% the alc is pretty clearly there and it is also a bit high for the style. however, they seem to have beefed up the other ingredients too, so the beer does not present itself as a beer with too much alc.
