Dark brown pour with a tall, fine-grained, beige head with good retention. Notes of roasted malts, licorice, cocoa, cinnamon, peppers, mild bourbon (sweet, with notes of vanilla but no sharp alcohol or barrel) followed by mild spiced rum, bitter cherries, dark chocolate. A very nice imperial porter, nicely balanced towards choclate and roasted malts, without the barrels overwhelming it. Nice warming finish.

22 oz. bottle. Aroma is cocoa, mild cinnamon, mild roast. Flavor is nice, good amount of chocolate, mild roasted backbone, cinnamon in the finish. Thankfully I get no Cayanne in the nose or flavor. Even the cinnamon is subdued. Alcohol is lightly present in the finish. Warming sensation after the sip. Nice brew!
