Opaque deep brown with a small beige head. Toasted malt, esters, walnut, umami, dried apples & pears, bread, spicy hints, distant hop. Medium dry. Sourish. Light ending bitterness. Weak texture. Something is wrong.

Drucken på fat på Bishops Arms Gustaf. Fin doft men å ena sidan lite platt, avslagen, saftig, dammig och med en lite avig beska å andra sidan värmande alkohol, komplexitet och fina söta nyanser av fat, torkad frukt. Doften lovade mer. Bra men hoppades på ännu mer.

Aroma of dark bready malts, caramel, dark fruits, chocolate, raisins, spices, light candy sugar. Flavour is similar, dark fruity sweetness. Alcohol is barely noticeable, just a hint of it. Very nice.

Версия 2020 года. Аромат сдержанный и не резкий. Винные нотки сначала, прямо виноград, немного сливы и вообще сухофруктов на втором плане, немного специй, бочка есть и алкоголь. Цвет темный, но не черный, что удивительно вообще нету пены. Вкус тоже стабильный и ровный, но не хватает глубины. Снова сухофрукты, слива и виноград на первом плане. При глотке крепость ощущается, немного алкоголя, но прям очень водянисто. Уже больше бочки, дерево. Даже немного в ликер моментами уходит. В целом неплохо, но далеко не лучший квадрик что я пробовал.

From a 330ml bottle on 19/11/2024. Pours a murky brown with virtually no head. The nose is minimal some Belgian esters with a hint of sour. Gutted to say it tastes horrible. Zero dark fruit sweetness, quite vinous, really boozy, and kinda salty and sour as fuck at the end. Has a slick palate and moderate carbonation. Notwithstanding the love on here, I can safely say it's far and away the worst quad I've ever had. Just awful and couldn't go beyond a few sips before giving up. One of a tiny handful of beers that’s been a sink pour for me.

Même si les noms se ressemblent, le rendu entre une Pannepeut et une Pannepot est très différent. Et ma préférence est claire et va à la Pannepot. Le coupable : une acidité sur la Pannepeut qui casse les arômes, qui ne permet pas une plénitude et une puissance de la bière. On n'en reste pas moins sur une bière de qualité, De Struise oblige. En verre nous sommes sur un brun (80 d'EBC) quasi sans effervescence et sans mousse. Le nez est sympathique sur le raisin, le chocolat, le caramel, la figue, les fruits confits, la poire, la coriandre et le girofle avec un alcool bien présent. On est alors proche de la Pannepot. En bouche, c'est une tout autre histoire...où une petite acidité surprend. Celle-ci donne de la fraîcheur et ne fait pas du tout ressentir les 10 %, mais on perd en plénitude et en puissance. Une petite aigreur et astringence sont également présentes. Des arômes de vinaigre de framboise font également leur apparition. Mais il n'y a pas photo...je vote Pannepot !

On tap at The Star & Garter, Bromley. Brown pour with a beige head. Nose is treacle toffee, chocolate raisin, molasses. Taste is oak, sweet tobacco, toffee, molasses. Sweet warming finish. Very nice.
