Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Mill Road. Somewhere between very dark brown and purplish black. Sand-coloured head. Not a lot, just a whisper. Citrus, liquorice, blackberries. A bit of raisin, chocolate biscuit and resin. Bittersweet taste, more sweet than bitter, jammy and well-balanced. Bitter hop finish and aftertaste. Thin but slick and nicely-carbonated palette. I like this a lot.

Bottle at home picked up at the brewery. Clear dark black / brown coloured pour with a lasting frothy light tan head. Aroma is light jammy fruit, juicy citrus hop, roasted pine, lightly roasted malts, little charred wood. Flavour is composed of light burnt toast, smooth roast, jammy juicy fruity hop, berry, slightly grainy in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation, medium bodied. Good black IPA.

Bottled 27/07/15 - Pours pitch black with a thick head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, pine, resin, citrus, grass, hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is smooth, roasty and hoppy with some resin, pine, citrus, grass, hints of coffee and chocolate. Finish is lingering hoppy, roasty and fruity with some licorice, pine, resin and grass. Great black IPA.

Dark brown color, good beige head. Toasted aroma has liquorice, citrus, gooseberry bush and grass. A bit watery front. Then soft toasted malts, liquorice and pine needles in the flavor. Light citrusy finish. Overall a bit weak for being real blockbuster 6+% black IPA. No faults either.

Bottle at home 11th September 15. Pours just off black. Aroma, dark malts, liquorice, slight cocoa. Taste is smooth, quite complex, cocoa, slight liquorice, hops, bitter and well accomplished, nice stuff

Almost clear dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Thin dark malts bring light touches of cream and roast. Good hop spice and fruity orange Citra hop. Finishes light and bitterish. Nicely balanced and very drinkable.

Draft sample @ Oersoep Bierfest 2015, Nijmegen. Brune foncée, col blanc-cassé voire café au lait. Arôme est houblonné à la perfection, note agrumes, fruité du Citra couplé avec un rétro-nasal abondant de malté grillé et caramel. Palais est malté bien en avant mais laissant ample place aux houblons. Retrouve un agréable caractère houblonné fuité et léger agrume tropical avec un fini grillé sur petite note de café.
