Thurbo Stout got its name from the village nearby, these days spelt Turbo. A rich Imperial stout brewed on a range of malts, oatmeal and smoked malt. The smoked malt is present give a complexity to the roasted notes. A great beer to enjoy with a chocolate dessert.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy black with little light brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice, acetone, some vinous notes. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Oily mouth feel.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.05.16. Very dark brown. Not much head. Aroma of green apples zest, dark malt and coffee. Fine taste, with dark malt, vanilla, dark chocolate and pine. Pronounced bitterness.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.7%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Pleasant aroma of roast malts, vanilla, chocolate and mild coffee. A hint of smoked malts. Slightly sweet flavour with the same elements as in the aroma, the smoked malts come through a bit more now. Moderate hops.

Bottle from a trade with sneakychi, many thanks! Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, hazelnuts. Taste is toffee, chocolate, burnt hazelnuts, molasses (like a Bock), and a bit of phenols and even a hint of plastic/rubber and solvent. Bitter finish, quite chewy. Surprisingly light overall, but the solvent notes are a bit of a turnoff.

Bottle kindly shared by rusos, many thanks. Almost black color with minimal minimal beige head. Chocolate, roasted malt, licorice, coffee in aroma. Taste, chocolate, roasted malt, some fruit, coffee, wood. Very good.

330 ml bottle courtesy of Constantin. Black color with beige head. Roasted malty and hoppy aroma, perfume, fruity, vanilla, licorice, light coffee. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma, with chocolate addition. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Flaska från SB som stått något år. Kolsvart med högt mörkbeige skum. Doft av toffee, choklad, kaffe och aningen katrinplommon och fikon. Medelkraftig IS med med stiltypisk smakbild. Kaffe, choklad, chokladfudge, lakritsrot, mörka plommon. Måttlig beska och sötma ien snygg, god och välbalaserad IS. Riktigt bra.
