Thurbo Stout got its name from the village nearby, these days spelt Turbo. A rich Imperial stout brewed on a range of malts, oatmeal and smoked malt. The smoked malt is present give a complexity to the roasted notes. A great beer to enjoy with a chocolate dessert.

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has powerful notes of roasted malt, alcohol, soy sauce, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, chocolate, soy sauce, roasted malt, and bread, leading to a dry roasted finish.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Almost opaque black, beige head. Aroma is sweet and roasted, coffee beans, astringent fruit and some harsh green notes. Taste: chocolate, coffee, strong grassy bitterness in the finish. And again, feels like it needs some more time. Not bad, but certainly unrefined.

Borefts VII. Day 1. Keg. Almost opaque dark amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and has modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, tangy dark chocolate. A little lacto sweetness. Modest spice. Dry finish. Okay.

Tap at Borefts ’15. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, roast, coffee and toffee. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, light spice, dark malts, earthy fruit, charr. Taste comprises toffee fudge, chocolate, light spice, roasted tone, biscuit, dark fruit. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok impy, drinkable but middle of the road for the style.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Black, little mocha head. Nose is oily resin, hoppy mixed with licorice, herbal notes, lightly roasted malts. Taste is mix of licorice & pine resin, herbal, light spirit, bark, bitter coffee. Good but not great but a hoppy & licorice forward RIS is also not my favorite. Body is oily & lightly herbal.

@Borefts 2015, van tap, zwart met volle fijne bruine kraag. aroma van chocolade, zoet, vanille, geroosterde mouten. smaken zijn zoet, vanille, chocolade, droog, koffie, medium body met lage co2. aardig.
