A warm chestnut brown with red glints and a cream-beige head. The abbey yeast in combination with the rye, wheat, and roasted malts generates a complex bouquet of dark dried fruits: plums, dates, rum raisins, and a hint of hazelnut. The drink is dry and elegant and leaves behind a wine-like impression. The alcohol content of 8.5 VOL% is pleasurably integrated.

Bottled 330ml (AJH, Amsterdam) Dark nut brown colour, medium-sized beige head. Caramel, straw and some alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel, veggies, raisins, banana, rye bread, dates and alcohol in the flavour. Short finish. A bit fizzy too. Kind of industrial abbey dubbel

Insel-Brauerei Baltic Dubbel, Fläschchen, möglicherweise aus einem Berliner Edeka. - Dunkelrotbraun, trüb; kaum Schaum. - In der Nase etwas mattes, traubenzuckersüßes dunkles Malz mit Milchschokolade und schwachen säuerlich-holzigen Noten. - Antrunk flau dunkelmalzig mit etwas Milchschokolade, kaltem Kaffee und schlecht integrierten kühl-holzigen Zügen. Vage krautige Herbe mit Nüssen. Stark rezent, recht dünn im Mund. Im Abgang schwach schokoladenbitter mit leicht säuerlichen Zügen. - Eigenartiges, unrundes Zeug, das mich so gar nicht überzeugt.

Thank you Chris for sharing this - Amber with off white head - Malt aroma with some spicy yeast - Malt body with some carmal flavours and with some hints of bitterness and yeast - The malt with some carmal flavour goes into the finish - This was nice

Fles gedeelt met LiekevdV. Het is een bruin bier met een diep rode gloed. Het heeft weinig schuim. Het aroma is fruitig en wat gistachtig. De smaak is vol, kruidig, rozijnen en wat rum achtig.

21.05.2018 -- 0.33l bottle from hieber's in lörrach, 2.99€, bb 12.12.2019. pours an opaque dark chestnut with a steady beige head. aroma of hazelnuts, rye bread, booze. flavour of hazelnuts, chestnut, dried rye bread. very nutty and boozy, a bit harsh.
