Bottle (Served by A..Gänstaller himself):Amber coloured with a ruby sheen, unfiltered; solid dryish (woodfire and ham) smokey nose, some sweet malt underneath; solid dryish bitter-sweet flavour, almost full (!) bodied and pretty soft; lingering bitter-fruity finish with a delicate smokey "tail". Extremely well balanced and tasty...

Draught at Tribaun, Innsbruck
Cloudy amber color. The aroma is like a smoked sausage box. Good body, supported by mild sweetness; good malt flavor, it has hints of fruity esters, powerful smoke flavor, flows down the throat like a cigarette, and gets drier in the final. The acidity is very low, hence not much like a sausage.
Somehow not as much as Schlenkerla; it’s also sweeter and less roasty. But it’s already a large effort.
Excellent.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1 + tasting glass on Day 2. Deep amber, small tanned head. Nose is oily sweet reach “bacon”, smoked tea, wook, caramel, oak, more on the oily sweet caramel side rather than sweet malt, some maple, wood, sweet biscuit. Taste is sweet oily caramel, smoked tea, sugar, “bacon”, Lapsang Souchong & various smoked tea, bergamot, slick, candied apple,… Slick, oily, elegant. Gorgeous beer. So slick, elegant, rich.

Tap @ Borefts ’15, small sample. Slight hazy brown color, medium head. Aroma of bacon and smoke, some caramel and toffee. Slight sweet in taste from caramel, bit dry and smokey from the smoked malts. Lots of flavor. Could have got even more rauch-aroma for me, but already great. Rauchbierlove.
