Keg at the Great British Beer Festival 2019 - London. Pours Lightly hazy amber-brown-red with a small, foamy topping. Medium sweet with notes of toasted malts, toffee, bread, low bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, sugary finish, nips of dried berries, toffee. Good enough.

Pitch black, tall creamy tan head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malt, licorice, cocoa, vanilla, woody and earthy notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, sugary. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, dry sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, chocolate, bit booze, maybe lacking some depth, good brew though.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 1 Sep 2019) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, oak wood and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, oak wood, vanilla, sultana raisins and a generous cacao bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Well made and balanced imperial stout with a warming wood touch. Very nice.

Keg at GBBF ‘19, day one, 06/08/19. Chestnut brown with a beige head. Nose is ripe dark fruits, bourbon nip, light spice, toffee, dark malts. Taste comprises tangy fruits, bitter sweet vibes, cocoa powder, earthy, light roast. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Ok easy sipping impy but lacks depth.

ABV: 9.5%. Unclear medium to dark amber colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit, alcohol - barrel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, sweet malt, dark malt, caramel, barrel - bourbon. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20190806]
