An oak-aged bitter beer. By origin the beer already has a light citrus-bitterness because of its 4 hops and the subsequent dry-hopping. The beer soured slowly during its 4 months storage in oak wine barrels. The daring bitter-sour combination was softened by the ageing which resulted in a very pleasant drink.

Aromas are malt, sour, funk, oak. Flavors are similar to nose, moderately tart, add in some stone fruit and citrus. Decent body and carbonation. Sweet tart finish. Pretty good.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a murky beige, with a large off white head. Aroma is funky, tart, acidic. Stone fruit, lemon, earthy wood, light vinous. Mouth feel is lively, with a very active carb. Finish is medium tart, more fruit, semi sweet/earthy barrel rounds it out.

Аромат умеренный не резкий, весьма добротно припорошен квашеностью яблок. Цвет на удивление красивый и приятный, бархатисто ярко-желто-мутный. Тончайшая белая пена. Вкус сильно кислый, ощущаются яблоки и сливы, немного уксусно-лимонной кислоты а также разнообразных кислых ранних ягод. При послевкусие появляется четкий оттенок хлеба, дрожжей и солода. В целом отличный кислый эль. Топчик.

Sample at the July PS Belgian Tasting Part 2, 7/13/24. New brewery! Brewery #2285, Belgium #92. Hazy orange, thin white head, average retention. Aroma of citrus, yuzu, oak. Taste is citrus, floral, honey, pepper. Touch too sweet.

Sampled at Max's Belgian Fest 2024. Pours a clear, dark gold with no head. Nose has lemon, Vitamin C, oak. If it's a bitter beer then I'm not seeing it. Huge lactic barrel, raw citrus. Tart finish. Prickly. Long. Needs more complexity.

Zythos 2022. Yellow colour with lasting head. There's a sherberty sweet and sour element. Yellow stone fruit. Really sour and tangy.

33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou. F: thin, off-white, quick gone. C: deep gold, light hazy. A: sour fruity, gooseberries, green peach, bit woody, lemon. T: medium malty base, light sour fruity, bit gooseberries, lemon, woody touch, red apples peels, soft carbonation, nice for the style, enjoyed.

Bière 33 cl trouvée chez Saveur Bière. Nez peu engageant et en bouche, une bière très acide, conforme au genre mais ce n'est pas mon registre, elle a fini dans une pâte à crêpes.! (M)
