(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, raisins and dark bread. Malty, slightly roasted taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, ryvita, caramel and a slightly spicy, herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with some sweetness. Overall well balanced and quite tasty.

Bottle from beermerchants.com. Pours brown with a reddish sheen. Has a beige long lasting head. Aromas of chocolate, dark fruits, some sourness, malts, nuts. Flavours of coffee, caramel, licorice, candy sugars. Quite sweet but pleasantly so. Finishes sweet, dry with a hint of biterness.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Pours somewhere between ruby and dark amber. Two-finger fluffy beige head. Aroma resembles xmas ale. Spicey and malty. Medium body with frothy creamy carbonation. Flavor is dark malt with dark fruit. Had a metallic note on first sip. Develops spice/yeast. Not bad at all. Refreshing even.

Pours a ruby colour, with long enduring large creamy head. Whiff of malt to the nose. A bit acidic and bitter taste of burnt toast, coffee and toffee. Metallic finish. (330ml bottle, shared with Stefan at Cafe Sånn 08.oct.09)

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Clear russet orange ruby , thin beige head. A bit like the tripel really, no offensive flavours, but just a little light on the flavour and on the character, perfectly drinkable, but just a little lacking. Not particularly dull, but nothing to excite you here either. Very light on the malts for a dubbel too.

Small offwhite head. Deep dark ruby red body. Light toffeeish fruity aroma with sugary yoghurty wild berry notes. Dry roasty licorice taste with earthy toffee and almond notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, dusty mouthfeel. Dryish yoghurty roasty wooden aftertaste with spicy notes. Overall quite dry. Feels a bit more like a lager than a dubbel, but is not bad. Much better when not cold. (0.33l bottle, Beer Palace, Oslo.)
