Bottle at Modeste 2017. Pours black, with a deep, brown glow. Small white head. Smell is roasted, bit peated. taste is full, dark chocolate, very intense. Not very peated at all. I like this !

Thanks to Kraddel! Sampled bottled @ Modeste 2017. Dark brown going to black, tanned head. Nose is clearly heavy on the peat low syrup, some varnish alcohol. Thin varnish medium but over peat, varnish alcohol, whole felt thinned out & weak, base seems to have suffered heavily & the barrel didn’t add much, some heavy thin roast.

Sampled at Week van Het NL Bier 2017 @ Grote Kerk Den Haag. Dark with tan head. Sweet roasted dark malts. Big whisky barrel note. Big sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Boozy boyfriend. Cheers.

From tap @ PRZH Winterbeerfest 2017. Black color. Dense beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: peaty, light alcohol, bitter chocolate. Retronasal there’s whisky, alcohol, chocolate, berries. Flavor is moderate sweet, peaty. Medium bodied. Finishes moderate bitter, woody.

Black, no head. Aroma is a little grassy. Flavour has light smoke. Finish is malty and has a touch of chocolate.

Bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Black with beige head. Lots of peat, dark chocolate, ash, roasted nuts, burnt paper, sweet red fruits, light leaves. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with slick feel.

Draft nitro pour at Rootz Winterbeer Festival. Black with a thick creamy beige head. Aroma of cocoa, dark chocolate, light Scotch coming out but balanced and not overpowering, woody barrel notes, overripe dark fruit and caramel. flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.
