330 ml. bottle. BBF 15.04.2018. Rather interested in this collab. Dark reddish brown, huge collapsing dark tanned mocha head. Nose is sweet powdery mocha, sweet plastic, sweet bark, cheap cacao, instant coffee, powdery faint dash of licorice. Taste is light bitter ashes, lightly herbal, bark, powdery mocha, bitter chicory coffee, light licorice, grainy ashes, low burned coffee,β¦ Rather dry, bitter, lightly grainy, bitter coffee,β¦ Quite bitter in a good way, dry, bit powdery,β¦ Quite classical dry & bitter Baltic Porter as it should be, not too shabby,β¦ Liked it quite a lot more than the original to be honest even though that is probably blasphemy. Finish is lingering ashes & burned coffee grounds, interesting.

(330ml bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours black with a fairly tight long lasting medium tan head and huge lacing. Aroma is hard roasted malts, burnt toast, ash, liquorice, coffee, light soy and a sort of mineral/metallic overtone. Flavour is more liquorice heavy, dark roast black coffee, earthy, hard roast, ash, subtle smoke and soy, semi-sweet treacle core rapidly dries out. Finish and aftertaste is bone dry and highly bitter, ashy, smoky, black coffee, spent grounds, plenty of liquorice. Average body, soft but fairly high filling carbonation. Itβs decent but also a bit all over the place, though I need to have the original I imagine a tighter focus than this has.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with huge light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, peated malt, coffee, gravy, iron, sweet licorice, soy sauce and apples. Taste is light sweet, very bitter, light acidic and light to medium umami. Body is creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter with notes of malt, apples, syrup, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, soy sauce, raw licorice, salt and hints of campfire smoke and spruce. Very rich and well balanced.

Bottle from Bottle Baron. Black body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of minerals, dark chocolate and treacle. Flavour of ash, burnt toast and brown bread. Medium body with a frothy texture. Soft fizz. Lacks the depth and richness I had hoped for.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours black with a reddish hue and a creamy, beige head. Vague smoke in the nose, only a hint of coffee. Rich body, heavy roast, tar and smoke, somewhat ashy, with a long, malt bitter finish. Definitely a lot of things going on here, but the end result is somewhat harsh and rough. 040816

50 cl. bottle from fΓΈtex food vesterbro. clear dark brown pour, pitch dark in the glass. light brown head. aroma resembles the better beer geek brews, roasted malty with some sweetness, lots of aroma, seems to be rounded off with some oats. Good coffee notes too, the us hops rounds it all off with a nice dose of freshness. flavor is also near perfect with quite some bitter coffe to balance the slightly sweet but yet hard roasted malts. bitter hops round off the beer with more bitterness. At times the loads of hops makes me think black ipa instead of baltic porter, but the malts can take it. Amazing i could find this gem of a beer in a small copenhagen city 7/11 style supermarket, it wasnβt even that expensive, considering 50cl.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.7%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee and liquorice, a hint of smoke. Rich mouthfeel. The flavour is mid between dry and sweet, with distinct notes of coffee, hints of liquorice and smoke. A good beer, but I prefer the ordinary Limfjordsporter.
