Draught@CBC 2016 (Blue Session).More or less black colour, brown head. Aroma is fruity, liquorice, some mild roasted notes as well as mild burnt wood to it. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, some floral and mild berryish notes. Not as good as I had hoped for from the expected epic combination.

Tap at CBFZ 2016. Lots and lots of unsweetened black coffee, low liquorice. Low sweetness, soft carbonation, dry. Flavours stay, the body sweetness doesn’t. Very tasty and balanced. Yum!

Bottle at a tasting. Rich maltiness, coffee, chocolate, rather malty sweetish thing. Quite good.

Bottle. Close to black, with a dense, finger-thick dark beige to light tan head. Some curtains. There’s loads of coffee and roasted malts in the aroma, showing up immediately after popping the cork. Dark chocolate, cocoa and burnt notes, close to bonfire actually, as well. Some dark dried fruit hints. It’s full-bodied, faintly warming and very nicely carbonated. There’s some sweetness in the mouth, but it’s actually quite dry, and there’s enough hoppy bitterness to prevent if from feeling cloying or sticky on the palate. Lots of roasted malts and oats in the flavor, still with coffee dominating. Dark chocolate, some cocoa and bonfire too, all lasting a good while, with a delicious hoppy flavor and bitterness in the swallow. Limfjordsporter is a delicious beer, so is Beer Geek Breakfast. It’s not always a good thing to combine two favorites, but this worked out very well. 160910

Bottle thanks to DP. It pours darkest brown with a thick light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, fruit cake, pine needles, toasty and wood. The taste is dry, bitter, toasted pine, cacao nibs, varnish, earth, peppery spice, mild astringency, warming alcohol and wood with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty alright stuff.
