Bottle. Black body with a nice, dense, beige head. Aroma has dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, hint of smoke and strong, bitter coffee – almost like sour coffee. Flavor is sweet, but balanced roasted, dark malt, strong coffee, medium smoke, dark chocolate, good bitterness and some licorice. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Nice and solid beer, not necessary better than any of the two beers this is a mix of, just adding up to something completely different.

0.33 l bottle @ home. Pours black with thin beige head. Nose is is sweet, with notes of chocolate, cocoa, liquorice with slight alcohol. Altogether feels somewhat sticky but in a good way. In taste it has similar notes but with some additional hoppy presence that combined with the cocoa/chocolate notes remind mr of a black IPA. Closes with long lasting dry, cocoa-coffee finish. Softly carbonated and has lovely creamy mouthfeel. Highly enjoyable.

From tap at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Aroma is dark malt, soft roast, coffee, notes of dark chocolate and a touch of nuts. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and a bit bitter. Body is medium. Easy and well-balanced Porter, good stuff.

Aroma of chocolate, dried plums, coffee, caramel, crust of bread. Taste is very roasty as porter style. Coffee, ash, dark chocolate. Lack of fruity and caramely accents. More stouty than porter. Dry. Low carbonation, medium body. Tasty beer but think that rather stout than porter.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately and slightly spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, some cocoa. Taste is slightly bitter, roasty, chocolately and slightly spicy, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, hints of liquorice, some coffee, burnt coffee, a touch of dry cocoa, minimally metallic overtones, here and there a touch of blueberry. Creamy texture, smooth, super-soft, silky palate. Very clean and focussed. excellent mouthfeel. Good.

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Dark brown colour, near black, small tan head. It’s rather dry but with a decent body strength; strong character o roasted malt with traces of dark chocolate and liquorice, a bit more ashy in the finish.
Good.
