A sparkling, delicate and crisp perry, made predominantly from Blakeney Red perry pears.
This award winning Perry is made with 100% freshly pressed perry pears sourced exclusively from orchards which are neither sprayed nor fertilised. The quality of this superb perry is achieved by selecting the best fruits fermenting them on their own wild yeast and using the experience of three generations. The label, a woodcut by Steve Hyslop, represents the ephemeral beauty of the pear and its blossom. Severn Cider has a passion for preserving quality, tradition and the natural environment.

500ml bottle (5.2%) from Gloucester Services Farm Shop. Pours clear gold, aroma has light floral perfumed perry pear fruit. Taste continues in a similar fashion, some light tannins, gentle sour with a floral perfumed sweetness, tightening tannic finish, not so sharp, fairly easy-going. Nice summery perry.

33cl bottle and 5.4%abv bit seems the same entry? Anyway, clear pale straw with no head but some visible cardbonation. Dry pears, medium funk, soft hay, quite mineral, cow dung, chewing gum, light lemon, alcohol, dry and dusty gooseberries. Very light sweet, over light sour and a soft bitter finish. Over light bodied with fizzy carbonation and medium dry finish. Decent perry, doesn’t seem artificial at all, but doesn’t hold up to most French ones.

330ml bottle from the Cider Tap, Euston. Sparkling pale yellow-gold colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of tangy apple & pear, some funk. Taste is mellow pear, some oak, wood, bittersweet, toffee & caramel notes, slight barnyard and tart drying tannin. Slightly oily mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry sourish lightly tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

V25 c2 Bottle, from brewer’s own stall at the Thame Food Festival. Very pale greenish gold with a beautiful light sparkle in the mouth. Sweet pears up front with just the right amount of lemon sharpness and cider vinegar sourness to balance. Dances lightly across the tongue leaving a refreshing fruitiness behind. Lovely- wanted more. An excellent perry.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear one, pale golden to yellow in color and with some white bubbles on top. The aroma reminds me more of a cider than a perry. Some barnyardish notes. The flavor is much the same, more evident on pears. Dry, slightly astringent and medium bodied. Lasting, mouth puckering, drying finish. A quite pleasant one, very dry and quite quenching. 110129
