50cl bottle pours clear amber with copper hues and thin tan head. The aroma offers up earthy to spicy stale chocolate brownie, ginger snap cookies and some salt. Whoa! I see why the ratings are so poor for this beer. It seems I bought this a good distance from the source so maybe it has aged too long. The taste is spicy with hops and then has a mild and muted red wine tartness, a touch of sour mash and then earthiness, spiciness, saltiness and a bit of malt roastiness into the finish. Finishing off the half liter looks to be a chore.
