Botella 75 cl en vivalabirra 13..03..2019. (r68). Color marrón oscuro turbio con espuma beige persistente. Sabores maltosos tostados con toques lupulados algo maduros ligeramente resinosos y terrosos. Ligeros ácidos. Suaves vainillas. Recuerdos de una belga doble con más amargor seco y ligeros cereales tostados, aló que se añade cierta acidez que le da una mezcla original a todo ello. Cuerpo medio con bastante sabor, cierta densidad, acabando con suave amargo seco. Original, buena.

Sovereign, bottle: pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is yeasty, chalky, hoppy, some chocolate. Taste is lightly bitter. Almost Belgian and has a sort of sour note, but in a good way. Nice complexity. Very tasty.

Bottle. Opened sedately but poured almost black with a huge tan head. Aroma of toast, roast, licorice, grapefruit, pine, minor mysterious herbal notes. Medium bodied, quite fizzy. Malty but really quite dry with the roast and bitterness concomitantly more prominent. Dark chocolate, some licorice, pine and herbal notes. I liked it more as it lost some fizz. Odd how it seemed quite grapefruity at first and then woody and stouty after a time. A bit ashy at the end. Hah - The restoppered bottle in the kitchen has formed an inch of head and the stopper hits the ceiling when reopened.

Capped and corked 750 from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma makes think of chocolate and pine. And dark malt. Med body or so. Flavor is earthy dark malt and some chocolate and I think pine. Comes across close to stout for me.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is very malt forward with a lot of toasted bread and nuttiness. Faint chocolate note. A light woodsy and herbal hop note. Hints of citrus. A medium light vegetable note. Pours dark brown, but not quite black with a large, frothy and rocky, dark tan head that falls into itself rather quickly then lingers for a bit. Faint lacing and no legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with toasted bread, some caramel and toffee and a light nuttiness. Quite a bit of malt. Medium bitterness. Light woodsy and herbal hop notes. A touch of citrus. Light alcohol spice. Light vegetable note; way lighter than in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very weird beer. Pretty much no hop character. Quite a bit of malt character. A but of an off vegetable note. Not great, but not as bad as I was expecting from the aroma.
