Inspired by System of a Down’s Chop Suey comes our smooth rye IPA Hop Suey. This beer is only half as crazy though – no less than 5 different hops and a pinch of peppery goodness in the background, while the distinct pineapple and mango nose dance in the fore. Business in the back, party in the front. Or the other way around, however you like it. With 45 IBU and 6,5% ABV, Hop Suey is sure to make you go at least a little crazy.

Bottle at the flat in Varna - picked up at Averi. Pours mostly clear deep amber with a foamy, off-white head. Light-medium sweet flavour, nice toasted rye, piney resin, mellow ripening orange, sun-kissed mats. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, nips of spicy rye, more resinous pine. Solid.

[ As Metalhead Hop Suey ].
ABV: 6.5%. Clear medium yellow - amber orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, rye, moderate hoppy, grass, fruity hops, herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, rye, pale malt, sweet malt - caramel, hop bitter, fruity, yeast, herbs. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to lively. [20200509]

Bottle at Vitamin B Sofia.Hazy amber colour lasting white head. Some spicy rye flavour. Good ipa. some sherbet. yes my kind of ipa. some interesting malt and some black pepper and bitter hops . some spice. easy drinking too. not over carbonated. soft like a pillow. Good.

Bottle at home. Almost clear reddish golden with almost white head. Flowery, spicy rye, lime rind, light bready, caramel, lychee, orange, weird herbal notes. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with lasting toffee finish.
