Savanna Premium Cider first Siyavanna’d in 1996. Damn, we’re older than Black Twitter. But you know in 27 years you lay down a lot of roots. And like the trees our apples are grown on, our roots go deep. Which means though a lot has changed since ’96 – the way we bring Savanna to the people hasn’t, and never will. Because Siyavanna South Africa.

500ml clear bottle @ 5% produced under licence in Belgium. Pours light gold, very fizzy and no head. Aroma of tangy apples and sulphites, not exactly fresh smelling. Taste is moderately tangy apples, high carbonation, lightish body. Not great but tastes ok and the dryness does add to this. Its ok.

Ikke verst. Endel sødme i den, selv om den generelt er tørr. Mer tørstedrikke enn en utsøkt opplevelse, men helt ok.

pale yellow colour, earthy-citric-apple notes both in the aroma and taste, taste is sweeter than expected based on the aroma; correct one

500ml bottle from Sainsbury's around the corner. Drunk at home. Very light gold, very clear. Lots of bubbles. Light aroma, slightly chemical and somewhat suggestive of apples. Taste is okay, with some sour apple tang before the incredibly short finish. Water and nothing in the aftertaste. Heavily carbonated. Substandard.

Bottle at Zwarte Ruiter served with ice and lemon which I managed to dump. Clear light golden with small white head. Dry apple, soft apple peel, soft herbal, kiwi fruit, mineral. A bit watery, but decent dry apple character. Light sweet and bitter, very light tart. Medium bodied and medium dry. A bit bland but not a bad cider.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local 'HIT'. Clear, pale golden with a thin, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, a little sourish and gently fruity aroma of apple juice and a touch of pear. Gently sweet, slightly sour, quite fruity taste of ripe apples, some pear and traces of wood, followed by a short, slightly tart, moderately dry finish. Thin to medium body, minimally astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Solid cider, quite pleasant although a little too sweet for a dry cider.
