Not sure who got me this but its been sat neglected in my fridge for quite some time. Consumed at home, Merton, Oxon, Wednesday 14th January 2015 during Merton Beer Festival mtg Pours dark brown with light beige head. Some chewy caramel, bittersweet beer, little bit of stock cube, fruity tang. Its not great but I drank it, its just about ok. A5 A4 T5 P2 Ov9 2.5

Bottle at IKEA Barkarby. Clear dark reddish/brown with a small head. Aroma and taste of bread, caramel, grain and some notes of metal. Thin and with a low bitterness.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Stas. Clear deep amber-brown. Aroma of malt, caramel, cardboard and dark bread. Sweet flavor, caramelly, with cardboard and some dark bread. Light to medium-bodied.

330 ml bottle from IKEA Kohaku. Pours reddish brown, small white head that disappears in seconds. Aroma is sweet, caramel, a bit of plastic and wet cardboard. Taste has caramel, is not as sweet as aroma suggested, some light bitterness at the end. Nothing special but also not especially bad - I guess this is your totally average industrial brew.

33cl bottle from IKEA Dortmund. Smooth and fresh beginning. Not too deep, not much roast. The mainpart is fresh, easy to drink with hints of dark roasted malt, but only very subtle. Hints of sourness. The aftertaste is dry, slightly bitter, hints of roast with a very dry ending.

Bottle from Ikea, Ashton-under-Lyne. Clear dark brown with a very thin head. Has a lovely nose including some smooth toffee but it’s not carried through to its taste which although pleasant with a light easy-drinking texture is more general in its sweetness.

So Ikea has another beer, a dark lager. It’s as plain and simple as Ikea can be at its worst. Backlog from 2014/03/18.

Bottle from IKEA Delft. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin frothy off-white head and a little lace. The aroma is light roasted malt toffee caramel. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth toffee malt hop bitter palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I wasn’t expecting much but this did surprise me somewhat. It’s nice and chewy with lots of flavour. Hey.... I might even buy another one!

395 yen or so from Osaka IKEA, served in my lager glass. It pours a clear dark mahogany brown. The aroma is malty, graham & caramel sweetness. The taste is sweet. light caramel, graham in the finish. Quite sweet, the body is too light & the mouthfeel while smooth is fairly watery. Overall it is actually pretty good, while sweet it doesn't become too cloying & the malts provide enough different flavors to make it more than a caramel sweet brown beer. The main weakness is the light palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
