Bottle 330 ml at IKEA Kållered, Göteborg. At the IKEA restaurant, on September 15, 2013.BB 12.06.2014.AS "IKEA - Öl Mörk Lager - Dark Lager Beer".Clear dark redish brown color, tan head that is a bit fizzy. Malty, roasted, grainy, somewhat metallic taste. Roasted and grainy aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Roasted, some toffee hints scent. The most fun thing about this beer was the cap with some IKEA humor that a bottle opener was not included.

33cl bottle from Ikea in Bratislava, 4.7%, 0.85€. Dark red to mahogany color, nice beige head but quickly reducing. Nose slightly roasted. Some toasted malts, hint of caramel, a bit dusty. Taste is rather flat, sweetish and slightly bitter as well. Dry, light to medium bodied, carbonated, simple, average.

33cl Bottle from IKEA. Brown colour, beige head. Aroma is very faint, some soft sweet caramel, hint of chocolate malts. Flavour is medium-sweet, light malty, caramel, light-bitter finish. Light-bodied, soft and somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Not bad, but extremely boring and near tasteless.

Better than his pale brother, but still an inferior brew. IKEA should invest more in theirs beers or just focus on their furniture.

330ml bottle BBD 07 Aug 2013: poured into an ’Augustijn’ badged chalice on a snowy, cold 22 Mar 2013 at home while the wife has her nails painted. Looked fine: nice reddy brown body with a good, full head of tan coloured foam on top. Looked away and the lovely head had done a runner to be replaced by a wispy covering and a collar. Rich aroma of plum pudding and Christmas style warmth. Malty notes get stronger as the beer warmed in the glass and the richness faded from the initial Christmassy, plum smells. The taste wasn’t great from the start, malty but thin and weak, a bit sickly sweet as well. A metallic and coffee feel arrived towards the end of the drink and this didn’t sit well with the sweetness at all. A little too carbonated for me: too fizzy for a decent beer.

0.33l bottle. Dark ruby body, off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel and a tiny roastyness. Sweet grainy maltyness with some dark fruits. A bit watery. Nothing extra.
