Cantillon Zwanze 2011 is the fourth release in the Zwanze series of beers. This series has been released every year since 2008, and beginning in 2011, with a coordinated celebration around the world at various beer bars, breweries, and restaurants. The 2011 edition is a recreation of Cantillon Pinot d'Aunis, using the same grapes, but this time, dry hopped with Brambling Cross hops. The grapes were provided by Olivier Lemasson at Les Vins Contés.

750mL bottle at Cantillon, dregs ticks, pours a filthy orangey brown with a small white head. Aroma is film of white wine must, tannins, and wet wood. Flavour is full of musty wet wood, leather, earthy funk, and gentle white wine skins. Really nice blend, accentuating the white wine. Excellent.

Again, Diego blowing up the LCBS 10 with this bottle. A pinkish grapefruit color. The nose was funk and white grapes. The taste is pretty much in line with sour funk and white grapes..

(Listed as Menu Pineau at pub but clearly not made with white grapes). Floral cherry, grape, malt, and hay aroma. Hazy ruby red with minimal head. Mildly sweet grape, malt, moderately sour vinegar/Brett, and mildly bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Excellent body and balance.

Bottle at BXLBeerfest Cantillon tasting (as Pineau d'Aunis 2010). Pours hazy amber with hint of red. Aroma is sour, woody, funky, fruits, vinegar, slight rubber, hint of grapes. Flavor follows the nose. Overall: great, but bit too vinegary for me.
