Cantillon Zwanze 2011 is the fourth release in the Zwanze series of beers. This series has been released every year since 2008, and beginning in 2011, with a coordinated celebration around the world at various beer bars, breweries, and restaurants. The 2011 edition is a recreation of Cantillon Pinot d'Aunis, using the same grapes, but this time, dry hopped with Brambling Cross hops. The grapes were provided by Olivier Lemasson at Les Vins Contés.

From bottle as Pineau d'Aunis 2010, at BXL Beer Fest, Cantillon Tasting.
Reddish-purple, hazy body, with a small, fluffy, light pink head.
Lovely aroma of funk, old cheese, basement, lots of horse blanket, wood, some wine, some grapes.
Tastes similarly great, with slightly more grapes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes very vinous finalky, tannic, wooden, with grapes, only subtle funk.
Vers tasty! The nose is pretty much all about the funk, which is very lovely though, deep and complex. The grapes come a bit more through in the taste. This has aged very well, beautiful stuff!

01-05-18 // taster at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. As Pineau d'Aunis. Not sure if it is really dryhopped like the Zwanze 2011 or if tis just the Lambic d'Aunis. Hazy red. Weinschorle. Dry juicy sweet red grapes with lambic. Lovely.
