A primeira Petroleum você nunca esquece!

Bottle shared at Borefts 6, day 2 from an IP trade with Flavio, 27/09/14. Black with a dirty tan head of bubbles. Nose is big roast, liqourice, spice, earthy, dark malts. Taste comprises dark chocolate, liqourice, bitter roast, malt, dark fruit rinds, dark red berries, black pepper. Full bodied, fine carbonation, molastic tones in the close. Decent enough impy, the 12% is well integrated and doesn’t get too hot.

Sampled from bottle thanks to theydon Bois @ Borefts 2014 day 2. Opaque pitch black color, virtually no head. Dark roasted malts aroma, lightly alcohol. Taste malts, dark malts, dark roast, espresso, quite heavy alcohol, bitter, strong roast. Thick and oily as petroleum (I presume?), medium to full body and carbonation. Quite like it actually. Heavy, but rich and full.

27/IX/14 - from bottle @ Borefts 2014 (Bodegraven) - BB: n/a (2014-1161) Thanks to Theydon_Bois for sharing the bottle!
Cloudy dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: very roasted, smoky, charcoal, cocoa powder, coffee. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: smoky, overripe fruits, coffee, caramel. Aftertaste: bit dirty, very hoppy, bitter, grassy, medicinal finish. Not balanced enough for me, was like a punch in the face. A good punch, but still a punch.

Tanks to Kraddel. 355 ml. bottle split post-ZBF 2014 train ride with Kraddel & ST247.Cool label. Pours a blackish dark brown, little mocha head. Smells of cheap chocolate, lots of roast, ashes, roasted malts, faint soy sauce, burned coffee. Taste is way, way too bitter fro me, heavily roasted and burned malts + coffee, ashes, black chocolate, oily, soy sauce. Really dries out the mouth, good on its own terms but way, way to bitter for me, I think that this might even be the bitterest RIS I have ever had.
