An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 8.5% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Opaque black beer, short lived chocolate coloured head. Dark chocolate on the nose. Semi dry palate. Rich dark toffee and chocolate with licorice - alcohol. None of it sweet. Finishes much the same way with a dark malt aftertaste. Rich and flavoursome but it lacks something to counterbalance it’s heaviness. Decent though.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours near black with a light earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roast joined by a good amount of toffee with slight hints of bitter chocolate and caramel. Flavor begins dark with roasted malts and dark chocolate but has a bit of sweetness from toffee in the finish.

Courtesy of ksurkin. Pours dark with mahogany edges and mocha head. The aroma is pretty darn rich with molasses, caramel, prunes, dried cherries, chocolate, a mild note of black licorice and a muted array of Noble hops. The taste is smooth with near creamy molasses, burnt malts, caramel, dark roastiness, chocolate and a bit of toffee. Well put together.

Bottle: Dark brown, near black pour with a finger of creamy brown head. Aroma is sweet and chocolate laced with a bit of the roast and coffee shining through. Flavor is rich and chocolatey sweet with some lingering roast and espresso. A bit more sweetness that regular chocolate, maybe thats the cane sugar? Silky, smooth, and delicious. Really quite terrific. Thanks Immy.

Bottle from Wine Specialist. Pours dark ruby garnet ending brown with a good tan head. Aroma is dark. Like molasses and coffee and dark fruit. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is tarry molasses, coffee, dark fruit, and chocolate. Although it’s full of malt, the finish is relatively dry. There is something like wood that comes forth in the finish, but this isn’t the oak aged stuff. Gol darny, but it is strong and tasty. One of us should send a bottle to Maria. One of us from the East coast.

Pours dark brown with brownish head. Roasty, caramel malt, light touch of coffee, sugar cane is present. Very impressed, wish this beer was available here in FL.

Lightly charred oak and chestnut aroma, with cocoa also present. Thick viscous black pour with a firm medium dark brown head, great lacing. Mainly charred oak flavor with date and grass notes. A little like battery acid on the palate. Full mouthfeel with good balance. Not really as good as I hoped.

22oz bomber. Opaque pitch black color. Mellow roasted malt aroma. This is a hell of a beer. Big and full bodied, with a sugary sweet finish. The ABV is reminiscent of an Imperial Stout, but the taste is all porter. Well done. Creamy and quite drinkable. A quality beer.

Bottle 1901 of 2007. Pitch black body with a medium creamy brown head. Sweet roasty and caramel aroma with some hints of molassas. Sweet roast, lots of caramel, light molassas, very creamy. Medium full body with low carbonation and a very smooth creamy finish.

22oz bottle-pours a rich creamy light tan head an black color. Aroma is soft sugary. Taste is burnt cane sugar, dark malt which finishes quickly, acidic/earthy. Finish is acidic with some coffee and dustiness. Not my style although interesting. Nicer at cellar temperature.
