A strong, malty backbone balances the mountain of whole cone hops we pack into our American Style IPA. Moderate grapefruit bitterness and herbal aromas take your palate for a ride. Malty, citrusy and resinous, with moderate bitterness.

Can courtesy of Kermis. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is malty hop leading to a medium bitter flarvour and a hoppy liqourice palate which totally dominates.

12oz can pours a hazy, dark orange with some lacing white head. Nose of orange, malt, sticky pine tar, sticky lemon candies, a little honey. Flavor is bitter, orange juice, grapefruit zest, pine, honey, malt, a little brown sugar. Full bodied, bitter finish. Decent.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a light mocha head. In aroma, a sweet fruity caramel malt with smooth floral hops. In mouth, an oily grainy malt with a good dose of piney hops, a bit of astringence, unbalanced. On tap at Time Out Wings, Herndon, VA, Oct. 12 2012.

Crisp honey golden coloured body with a slightly hazy blonde glow and a nice off-white head. Aroma of deep grassy and herbal hop notes with a little dry scents and a good complexity. Medium-bodied; Deep hoppy note of grass and herbal tastes with a nice malt backbone, a strong dry finish and a good bittering flavour. Aftertaste is fairly one-dimensional with the hops really coming through, but the malt holds steady, a nice clean and fresh character throughout. Overall, a good fresh IPA that is definitely nice to sample for the area and a good choice overall! I sampled this pint on draught at Virtue Grain & Feed in Alexandria (Old Town) for US$8 earlier in the day on 15-October-2011.

The Big Hunt, DC tap ($6): Pours a reddish color with a whitish head. Aroma is of citrusy hops. Body is a little lacking, maybe not enough backbone. Hops are intense, but not extreme. Easy drinking though and very sessionable. Glad to see another DC area brewery getting its start.

Draft at Churchkey. Murky variegated golden color, giant fluffy white head that settles quickly. Very nice citrus > floral aroma. Taste of limoncello and grapefruit. Good stuff. Tasted again at the brewery - even better!

Draft at Brewery. Tasting notes got all screwed up on my way home, so attempting to be as accurate as possible. Beer poured a clear medium-dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was hoppy, well crafted, with a nice malts backing. Crisp taste, refreshing, enjoyable.
