Pour this medium-bodied Imperial IPA for a bit of snap and crackle - and plenty of hop. Brewed with Motueka hops from New Zealand, it starts dry and finishes crisp.

Murky orange pour, with a large off white almost beige head. First whiff is very sweet, and bready with alot of pine and citrus zest. Well... The sweetness faded as I let it warm. The hops are there, but you can tell the beer is old. The hops have gotten a little musty and earthy. The malts are spicy, with a little Belgian ale type fruity sweetness in the end. The alcohol is a little warming as it lets you know it’s there. Pretty good ..

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma brings out loads of tropical fruits and some sweetness. Taste is tropical fruits and piney bitterness, quite dry and crisp. Some residual sweetness is noticeable. Strong piney bitterness aftertaste. Very good.

Pours a cloudy golden-amber with lots of particles through it. Warm cap, frothy, creamy, good retention and some nice lacing. Aromas of hops (which I am not a fan off) with caramel and orange notes. The taste is a little better with the grassy hops balanced with the fruity malts. Hints of wax (and even mint) in the finish. Not the best Imperial IPA, but a true one that is still worth trying. Smooth overall.

650ml bottle from Whole Foods Bowery, New York

Pours dark orange with a sticky white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malts, toffee, some fruits and aged hops. Taste is sweet, caramely and stuffy with loads of toffee, some grassy hops and fruits. Finish is stuffy, sweet and caramely with some malts and toffee. Doesn’t feel very fresh, way too sweet for my taste. --- Beer merged from original tick of Snap, Crackle, Hop on 13 Dec 2014 at 14:25 - Score: 6. Original review text: Not very fresh. A bit meh.

66 cl bottle @ tiong, no BBE info
Aroma has juicy and fruity hops; grapefruit and mango. Flavour has gluey tones, graperuit, tropical fruits and touch of alcohol. One (slightly) boozy fruit juice.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt notes with quite a bit of residual sugar is offset by some floral citrus hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by loads of residual sugar with some citrusy hoppy notes. Boyd is full with limited filtration and medium carbonation. Too much residual sugar for my own taste.

Bottle from the LCBO. Very cloudy medium orange with a small tight off white head that lingers and leaves some lace. Nose has lots of bread and candied fruit with a good dose of citrus and pine. Nice and bitter from start to finish but also an even bigger presence of sweet caramel malt which takes the edge off (maybe too much) and neither can hide the level of alcohol. Some pepper is lurking in the background throughout. Mouth is medium and creamy with smooth carbonation.
