Lots of oak in here and not a whole lot else. Pours dark brown with ok head and lacing. Some roast. Overbarrelled, overpriced. Hype hype hype. Tap at Churchkey.

1 finger creamy off white head. Persistent. Dark brown to black. Murky amber. Raisins and prunes with sweet cranberry jelly aroma. Smoked herbal taste. Jammy fruit with raisin and pecan nuts. Strong, dry mild peat and banana peel. Interesting. Abv you taste as well

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small tan head that fades somewhat quickly over a hazed deep bronze hued body. Aromas are a bit of ethyl acetate, acetone, vinous, brandy, apple, bready, grainy and lightly floral with a good shot of alcohol. Flavors are mildly sour, vinous, light vinegar, ethyl acetate, brandy, barrel. Medium dry and warming with low carbonation.
On tap at Stone with the same numerical score. Pours with a very murky deep brown hued body with a lasting khaki head of foam that fades to a ring. Aromas are musty and big, lots of barrel, brandy, dark fruits, chocolate, dusty, sherry, raisins, apple brandy and soil. VERY BOOOOOZZZZZYYYY. Flavors are boozy, fudge, chalky, chocolate, barrel, apple, musty, fusel, raisins. Vinous and boozy. Thinner mouthfeel, medium bubbles, warming, dry and intense. Calvados and low tannin. Rich.

750ml shared by Travlr. Deep opaque brown. Thin oily head. Mellowed carbonation, a lot barrel tones. Mellow mouthfeel, but big taste. Quite broad and complex. Oaky. Never overbearingly sweet. Woody, this is an excellent mellow beer for the ABV, a delight to sip on.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ the bruery \ equally poured into the tasting glasses \ curious about this one Alvinne special offerings are usually way more interesting & better than their staple beers \ This is Mano Negra aged on Calvados barrels although he told me that I shouldn’t believe everything that he claims blindly, I am still inclined to believe him \ Appearance is mahogany/chestnut black with a tanned head, there is clearly some rather lasting head on this \ Tastes like light mellowed out dark fruits, decent portion of wood in here, tart & slightly tannic, hint of lacto in here as well, slightly musty, moss, plenty of wood really, hint of liquorice, slightly sour chocolate malt, definite tobacco, vinous, slightly thin, you get some of the Calvados in the finish but it seems rather thinly layered on \ Body is slightly thin but not watery, soft carbonation, oily \ Not bad but not really living up to any kind of potential either

Gelungen, vllt. Etwas alkoholisch. 9/10/9/9/9/9
